Ralph Jacob, PharmD, IT Pharmacist, and owner of Healthien Inc., Healthcare Consulting Services, has over 16 years of Healthcare Information Technology experience, specializing in the implementation, integration, and optimization of MEDITECH EHR and Advanced Clinical components. Ralph has been implementing the MEDITECH system since 2003 nationwide, the US Virgin Islands, United Kingdom, and Canada. He assists hospitals in achieving their organizational goals including, but not limited to developing and implementing patient safety initiatives, as well as compliance with regulatory requirements. Ralph develops innovative solutions by building Clinical Decision Support (CDS) systems within the MEDITECH software, leveraging his experience in Acute Care, Project Management, Workflow Analysis, Process Redesign, Clinical Transformation, and Change Management. Ralph has been active member in the MEDITECH Pharmacy Advisory Committee since 2017 to date, serving as subject matter expert providing guidance, recommendations, and conceptualization on medication use process, from ordering to administration, based on best practice, as well as feedback of the common providers’ challenges and up-to-date regulatory requirements to assist in the design of the Pharmacy and Providers’ Order Management modules. Member of the Medical Users Software Exchange (MUSE) since 2008; presented at the National and the International MUSE conference in 2008, 2016, and 2017.
