Operated by Dorado Health, Puerto Rico Children’s Hospital shares an integrated MEDITECH Expanse EHR with four other hospitals across the health system, ensuring digitally advanced, patient-centered care across the community. Now, the oncology team at the new Hope Wonders Oncology Care unit has seamless access to patient records across all settings. This new family-friendly pediatric oncology unit features rooms, schools, and play areas designed to support family comfort, along with advanced diagnostics, support services, and specialized oncology staff.
Aspen Medical selects MEDITECH Expanse to advance patient care at Fiji Hospitals
Aspen Medical announced it will implement MEDITECH Expanse at its Lautoka Hospital and Ba Hospital in Fiji, establishing a single shared platform between the facilities. Implementing Expanse at both hospitals will help streamline administrative processes and standardize workflows. Expanse aligns with Aspen Medical’s mission to innovate and optimize healthcare delivery. This includes improving patient engagement through better access to care, managing chronic conditions such as high blood pressure and diabetes, and using text messaging to remind patients of appointments and preventive screenings.

At Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care in Ontario, they have done just that by developing an AI-powered early warning system to anticipate when patients are at risk of mental health deterioration. Risk factors include changes in medication, refusing medication, changes in eating and sleeping patterns, as well as nursing assessments of a patient’s mental status and any signs of agitation or anxiety. By identifying risk factors early, staff can ensure the well-being of their patients and provide the necessary interventions, such as providing access to pleasurable activities, adjusting their medications, or increasing engagement with nursing staff. This solution demonstrates the power of AI to evaluate whole-person care, encompassing both physical and mental health, to ensure optimal and compassionate treatment for patients.
