MEDITECH-customers-spotlighted--LI--blogSeveral MEDITECH customers are being recognized in the press for their efforts in driving healthcare innovation. With goals ranging from nurse efficiency to data-driven decision-making to precision medicine, these organizations are successfully using their Expanse EHR to improve the care experience for patients, providers, and staff. Here are just  a few of their stories:

Bingham Memorial CNO shares strategies for supporting nurses

Bingham Memorial Hospital CNO Holly Davis recently discussed her organization’s approach to fostering a supportive environment for nurses. On a podcast with Becker’s Healthcare, Davis highlighted initiatives that empower clinicians and streamline workflows, including the rollout of iPhone in MEDITECH Expanse for bedside medication scanning.

“My goal as a leader is to help our nurse staff have a long and sustainable career and really be mindful of how we do that,” Davis said. “I don’t believe a nurse should be a workhorse. I believe that they should be appreciated and supported for their minds and for their ability to be an advocate for the patient and help the whole care team be successful.”

Data-driven insights lead to cost savings and improved care for Willis Knighton Health

Willis Knighton Health was included in a recent Healthcare IT News article detailing its successful implementation of MEDITECH Expanse and a robust data governance program. By leveraging their EHR and evidence-based clinical decision support, they now provide clinicians with crucial data for timely and informed decisions.

“Adopting a data-driven approach across all areas of our complex, multi-entity health system is yielding significant benefits for Willis Knighton, enabling us to improve patient care and reduce costs,” said Senior Vice President and CIO Mark Galea.

MEDITECH customers lead the way with precision medicine

Canadian Healthcare Technology recognized Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences and Frederick Health for their pioneering work in integrating genomic data into their MEDITECH Expanse EHRs. Ontario Shores is leveraging this technology for more precise medication dosing, while Frederick Health has automated the matching of patients to clinical trials based on their genetic data, significantly increasing referrals.

“Before, we had to manually go through the charts looking for genetic markers and match them to the right trials,” said Frederick Health Vice President and CIO Jackie Rice. “Now it’s automated.”

Signature Healthcare CIO discusses interoperability and maintaining independence

Becker's Hospital Review sat down for a Q&A with Signature Healthcare VP/CIO Joe Diver to discuss the critical role of EHR interoperability in improving care coordination and maintaining independence.

“Traverse Exchange is going to lead us down a path of being able to provide the appropriate level of access to our payer partners so we can coordinate care and also cut down costs,” said Diver. “It would be a win-win partnership between us and the payers. And, most importantly, it will benefit the patients.”

Humboldt Park Health embraces AI for enhanced patient safety and operational efficiency

Featured in a recent Becker's Health IT article, Humboldt Park Health COO Daisy Rodriguez shared insights on their upcoming AI solution designed to prevent patient falls. The critical access hospital is also piloting Microsoft's DAX Copilot for ambient AI-automated clinical documentation , aiming to reduce the administrative burden for providers.

“We’re using ambient listening to help catch things within visits that providers may not catch because they’re multitasking,” said Rodriguez, adding that these AI tools are expected to save the organization millions of dollars per year.
