MEDITECH knows that AI will continue to expand its influence across every facet of healthcare technology. By leveraging tools like Natural Language Processing, Large Language Models (LLMs), and a secure, scalable cloud architecture, MEDITECH is blending AI capabilities into Expanse, our intelligent EHR platform. The time is now for healthcare organizations to explore their AI options and see how these tools can help reduce burnout, improve care, and provide a smoother experience for clinicians and their patients.

Below are a number of resources and customer stories where you can begin to learn more about how MEDITECH and your organization can utilize AI to address challenges and improve efficiencies.

Mile Bluff Medical Center now live with MEDITECH Expanse search and summarization powered by Google Health

Organizations everywhere are trying to find creative ways to reduce clinician burnout. Mile Bluff Medical Center in Wisconsin just took a significant step forward in these efforts by launching Expanse search and summarization, powered by Google Health. These finely tuned search capabilities and natural language processing intelligently pull information from structured and unstructured data, including scanned documents, faxes, and legacy data. Searches that previously would have required a clinician to hunt manually through endless pages of a patient’s history, in some cases can now be done in a matter of seconds. Read our press release to see how this functionality is now improving workflow and efficiencies for the more than 150 users in the pilot program and hear directly from the care team at Mile Bluff in this video on our YouTube channel.

Fraser Health to leverage generative AI for clinical documentation in MEDITECH Expanse EHR

Composing discharge summaries can often be a time consuming process. To reduce documentation time and create a more efficient process for clinicians, MEDITECH customer Fraser Health Authority is embracing generative AI.

As a pilot site for the auto generation of clinical documentation use case announced in 2023, Fraser Health will use generative AI tools within Expanse to automatically produce an initial draft of the hospital course narrative. Clinicians will be the human in the loop to review and edit the draft within the discharge plan before it is finalized, streamlining documentation. Read the full press release to learn more about how working with MEDITECH has enabled Fraser Health to advance their digital health vision.
