Patients have always been at the heart of our mission here at MEDITECH. While our patient portal has always been focused on the patient, we’ve taken it to the next level with enhanced accessibility, intuitive features such as a current stay dashboard, and continued convenient access through our MHealth app. Now, more than ever, patients can stay fully engaged in their care journey, never missing a beat as active members of their care team.
To highlight the evolution of our solution and reinforce the personal ownership patients have over their health data, we’re excited to announce that the Patient and Consumer Health Portal is now rebranded to MyHealthHub. This change is more than just a new name and logo—it’s a reaffirmation of MEDITECH’s longstanding commitment to personalized, patient-centric care.
Clear communication with patients, families, and proxies
Our newly enhanced current stay dashboard offers patients and their families a real-time view of the care process. Patients can grant access to family members, proxies, and advocates, allowing them to view and contribute to the patient’s health record during a hospital stay. This includes information such as procedure status, medications, care team members, care plans, and room locations, as well as educational materials, discharge instructions, medication summaries, surgical status, and post-care instructions.
This secure, easy-to-read information is crucial for keeping patients and families involved in treatment and recovery. It empowers them to ask questions, stay informed, and ultimately helps reduce readmissions.
Features like guest access allow caregivers and proxies to view the patient’s record and participate in virtual care visits. This flexibility makes it easy for care teams to collaborate and for family members to actively support the patient’s journey.
Prioritizing Accessibility and Usability
The industry has recently experienced significant changes when it comes to accessibility, including the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines that all organizations must meet by May 2026. MEDITECH is taking a responsible approach to accessibility by applying a thoughtful framework to our innovations that aims not only to meet but to exceed the latest industry standards. Our most recent updates to the patient portal reflect this commitment, ensuring that our products are accessible and conducive to an equitable healthcare ecosystem.
MyHealthHub includes key accessibility features such as keyboard navigation support, labels that support assistive technologies like screen readers, and a calendar with readable dates and times for visually impaired users. This is just one way we ensure our solutions are not only accessible but also easy for all users to navigate.
With these enhancements, MyHealthHub improves the user experience by making navigation more intuitive. By offering self-service features, MyHealthHub empowers patients to complete tasks like pre-registration, consent forms, and medication renewals directly from their devices, while also expanding on existing features such as appointment self-scheduling and visit-specific questionnaires to ensure patients always have a hand in their patient care journey.
By placing accessibility at the forefront, MyHealthHub also streamlines processes like billing and viewing test results, making them more efficient and easier for patients to access.
Keeping Everyone in Sync with a New Calendar Tool
Our new calendar feature gives patients the flexibility to view their appointments in the format that works best for them—whether by day, week, month, or year. Patients can see both past and upcoming visits, with additional details available at a click. They can even download their schedule to sync with any external calendar they use.
The ability to download appointment details directly from MyHealthHub empowers patients to manage their care more independently, ensuring their needs and preferences are always a priority. The calendar now also includes long-term care social appointments, reflecting our commitment to whole-person care.
Embracing a Solution that Benefits Everyone
MyHealthHub benefits not only patients but also healthcare organizations. By providing easy access to real-time patient data via the current stay dashboard, nurses and care teams can save time and reduce the number of calls from patients and families seeking updates.
Organizational success is also driven by patient engagement – connecting with the right patients at the right time and in the right way. With our patient communication solution Expanse Patient Connect, providers can reach specific members of their patient population through the medium that works best for them. As healthcare organizations are moving toward a value-based approach, Expanse Patient Connect can help to close care gaps, manage chronic diseases, and promote wellness with actionable messages to targeted patients.
The refreshed MyHealthHub is just one way MEDITECH is staying true to our mission of delivering the best care possible. We’re already seeing positive feedback from customers who are live with the new features, and many more are on the way. Stay tuned for further updates and testimonials in the months ahead!
