Technology is transforming healthcare around the globe, and MEDITECH is proud to play an instrumental role in extending the reach of these innovations to our international customers. Our customers span 27 countries and territories, including the United Kingdom, South Africa, Australia, and Singapore – all united by their investment in digital solutions that will improve the lives of their patients.

With the number of international MEDITECH Expanse organisations growing, the capabilities of our intelligent platform are optimising providers’ workflows, improving patient care, and transforming communities of all types and sizes across the world. Let’s look at some recent examples of how our solutions are helping customers on their transformation journeys.

Leading the charge

Searching for an electronic patient record (EPR) that supports interoperability, safety, and patient engagement initiatives, the Norfolk and Waveney Acute Hospital Collaborative selected  MEDITECH’s Expanse EPR to implement across all three Trusts. The collaborative is eager to provide patients and staff with the opportunity to access benefits only made possible with emerging technologies and artificial intelligence. Patient engagement was a key objective in their clinical transformation programme, and the Trusts plan to introduce MEDITECH’s Expanse Patient Portal to serve as a digital front door for patients in the coming months following implementation.

At their specialty hospital Thompson Medical Centre, Thomson Medical Singapore recently went live with MEDITECH Expanse. With this hospital’s central focus being maternity care, they sought an EMR that would help to ensure the enhanced comfort and safety of mothers and babies as they transition between pre- and post-partum care. With advanced features such as the ability to link with the fetal heart monitor, Thomson Medical is undoubtedly taking the first steps toward enhancing care to meet the unique needs of its patient population and setting the standard for others to follow.

Long term MEDITECH customer, Namibia Institute of Pathology Limited (NIP) successfully implemented MEDITECH Expanse. They selected a solution that not only enhanced the quality of care they are providing to their patients, but also reinforced operational excellence and sustainability at their organization. It is wonderful to see our relationship with NIP evolving in synchrony with the growing power of digital technology.

In support of their dedication to patient-centred care, Sir Ketumile Masire Teaching Hospital (SKMTH) decided to sign with MEDITECH Expanse. In search of an EHR that would transform patient care, they selected Expanse for its centralised and comprehensive platform, and its ability to enhance clinical workflows and strengthen interdepartmental connectivity. With all of their organistional needs met, they are excited to welcome a new era of patient care.

By selecting MEDITECH Expanse as its foundational EMR, St. Vincent’s Health Australia Private Hospitals now has a single platform to connect patient data across its 10 private hospitals. The organisation has selected to deploy Expanse through MEDITECH as a Service (MaaS), a subscription-based model of the platform that can be scaled to fit organisations of any size. Now with a foundational EMR, St. Vincent’s Health Australia Private Hospitals is looking forward to improving functionality for end users and setting a new standard for patient care across their private hospitals.

Ranked by patients as one of London’s top private hospitals, longtime customer New Victoria Hospital has signed for MEDITECH Expanse EPR. They have been quick to embrace advancing technologies, as the hospital recognises the power that digital tools have in the healthcare space. With the addition of Expanse, the organisation is not only looking to streamline processes and reduce clinical workloads, but demonstrate a renewed commitment to patient engagement. They have opted to introduce a patient portal to allow patients access to their health records, and increase time savings for patients and clinicians with electronic forms and questionnaires.

East Cheshire NHS Trust and Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust are working together on the project that will replace their current paper-based records with one modern and comprehensive source of information, known as the Digital Clinical System (DCS). By partnering to deliver a shared Expanse EPR, East and Mid Cheshire are taking an important step forward to improve care for the communities they serve.

Blackrock Health Group, comprising the Blackrock, Galway, Hermitage and Limerick Clinics, will implement Expanse as part of its investment in a new digital transformation programme which includes the introduction of Ireland’s first integrated digital engagement platform that will enable connectivity between patients, consultants, and GPs.

As one of the largest providers of private healthcare in Ireland, Bon Secours Health System selected Expanse as the foundation of its clinical transformation project and 2025 Strategic Plan. The Expanse platform is a key component of the plan, which includes leveraging state-of-the-art equipment and technology for enhanced clinical care, patient safety, efficiencies, and patient experience.

Advancing digital healthcare across the globe

MEDITECH fuels healthcare organisations everywhere with our state-of-the-art technology. We were proud to showcase our solutions at the recent Digital Health Festival in Melbourne, Australia as well as the East Africa Digital Transformation Conference

Our executive teams met with decision makers, industry leaders, and healthcare professionals to share insights into the latest technological advancements in the healthcare space. The Digital Health Festival theme “See the Future of Healthcare” encouraged attendees to discuss the potential of digital technology to shape the future of healthcare and explore their role in this era of enhanced digitalisation.

At the East Africa Digital Transformation Conference, I had the opportunity to give the keynote address focusing on meaningful and intentional innovation – especially when it comes to exciting new healthcare trends such as AI. Technology truly is a game-changer if leveraged thoughtfully; it has the power to make the difference in improving patient outcomes and enhancing operational efficiency.

There are so many challenges as well as opportunities in the healthcare space that force us to think creatively and explore new perspectives to enhance care in an ever-changing atmosphere. The opportunity to demonstrate our intuitive and transformative solutions and learn from other thought leaders in the industry is always a gift that yields incredible results.

We are steadfast in our commitment to delivering innovative solutions that align with the evolving needs of healthcare organisations everywhere. And I’m proud of the collaborative work we do with our customers as they strive to improve the lives of the people throughout their communities.
