Rethinking productivity to enhance revenue cycle performance
A critical access hospital that also provides care through affiliated rural health clinics, Pender Community Hospital in Nebraska has dramatically improved its revenue cycle performance in recent years. In moving on from their legacy system, they were able to overcome issues like manual workflows and limited reporting by leveraging MEDITECH’s intelligent EHR to automate processes, generate better insights through data, and more proactively manage accounts. The results have been impressive: a reduction in Accounts Receivable (AR) greater than 90 days from 44% to 29%, Days in AR from 55 to 30, and Denials as a percentage of AR from 21% to 6%.

How MyHealth elevates the patient experience

Charting healthcare’s future through partnership: Highlights from MEDITECH LIVE 25
Many of the most exciting things happening in healthcare right now were front and center at MEDITECH LIVE '25. Sessions were all about looking towards the future, focusing on leveraging Artificial Intelligence and interoperability through partnership and innovation. The goal is to move towards an agentic EHR — one that functions to support users, not replace them. For example, attendees heard about using embedded AI to reduce clinician burnout and automate tasks like discharge summaries, benefits that we’re seeing in real time. Traverse Exchange, MEDITECH’s FHIR-based interoperability solution, was also highlighted in our interoperability and data pavilion, underlining how better data is key to better patient outcomes.

One of the largest Native-run healthcare organizations in the United States, SEARHC provides care to 26 communities across Southeast Alaska. They wanted to operate independently on their own EHR platform to improve efficiency and increase provider satisfaction. They also wanted an EHR that would be more accessible for patients, advancing engagement and making processes like billing much more streamlined. In choosing MEDITECH Expanse as their EHR, they’ve seen major improvements in all of these areas, making them a model for bringing other rural healthcare organizations into the future.

Full speed ahead: Interoperability at MEDITECH enters a new era
2025 saw the continued success of Traverse Exchange, MEDITECH’s national data exchange network. The advancement of data exchange is at the heart of the modern EHR, and Traverse Exchange is how MEDITECH is leading the way in this important area of healthcare IT. We want to make sure we’re delivering on the original intention of TEFCA — to break down barriers between data sources in a way that moves the needle for patients in the real world. Watch this video to see how Traverse Exchange is doing just that.

Building EHR user confidence with robust training resources
MEDITECH knows the importance of training when it comes to making the most of an EHR. To that end, we’ve developed MEDITECH Training on Demand, a flexible program providing role- and workflow-aligned e-learnings to address specific needs across an entire range of staff. Among many other features, the program focuses on personalization and customization, increasing user satisfaction, and uses microlearning—breaking topics into digestible courses and videos—allowing staff to acquire knowledge at their own pace.
